These are some highlights from remix projects I’ve worked on.
Find the original song below the remix so you can see what I was working with.
This is my remix of “Last Friday Night” by Katy Perry.
This is one of my favorite projects I’ve ever finished. I had so much fun creating it, and this also has a special place in my heart because I got to play this several times as a DJ.
This is my remix of “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough” by Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrell.
I had a lot of fun with this one. I chose to remix this song because as I was driving home from school it came on in the car and I thought an upbeat house-ish remix of it could be really cool - I think it turned out to be a banger (my favorite part is the saxophone buildup to the key change in the middle).
This is my remix of “Show Me Love” by Robin Schulz.
I made this remix for a good college friend - he told me that he was dying to hear a well done remix of this song, and so during Thanksgiving break one year I made this. It was a memorable Thanksgiving, because my family came up to Rochester and we had dinner in my dorm-apartment. I remember finishing this up right as they arrived at the door.
This is my remix of “I Need Your Love” by Calvin Harris and Ellie Goulding.
This was my attempt to make an experimental house remix, and somehow I landed on using the vocals from “I Need Your Love” to make it happen. This one really pushed me out of my comfort zone and forced me to do something new, and while it may be unconventional, I think it turned out to be awesome. I really experimented with using the violin to make unique sounds to use.
