Origami Week #2
This week I made a house, car, boat, and butterfly.
7/20/2024 - 7/27/2024
Let’s get right to the progress:
I spent almost every day this week learning how to fold a different thing while also spending a bit of time reviewing the folds I have previously learned (cat, dog, and flower - see last week’s post). The toughest fold this week BY FAR was the boat. The last step of the fold is to turn the whole thing inside out: to do this without ripping any of the paper was really difficult. I learned to approach it with patience and finesse rather than brute force, and it ended up working pretty well but I had to practice this one A LOT (I even finished a few tries in my med school lobby while waiting for a registration appointment). Anyways, here’s a time lapse of me making all four folds in a row from memory earlier today.
Feel free to slow down the video if it’s too fast (click on the gear icon in the lower right corner and change video speed)
In case you wanted a closer look at what I made, here are pictures of all three creations side-by-side.
I had a great time learning these folds this week, and I look forward to doing more folding next week!
